What we think
And so we come to the end of an extraordinary season of Formula 1 racing, like no other in the long history of the sport. Perhaps you may think it was a little bit predictable, but it was impressive. Without wishing to be unpleasant to Red Bull Racing, we hope that the other big teams will do a better job in 2024. The action behind Max Verstappen was very close and usually pretty intense and we hope that this will ultimately become the fight for race wins, rather than being for the runners-up. As the sport grows, the better the on-track action, the more fans will become interested and keen to attend races and watch the action.
We think that F1 has very little to complain about (the FIA excepted) and we hope that this growth and optimism will continue and that more fans will see the positives and enjoy the sport a little more than they seem to have done in 2023. Even with Max winning pretty much everything, few of the races have been dull, if you look behind the leader.
We hope that you have enjoyed GP+ and will continue to support us in 2024.
Our philosophy has always been to keep our prices down as much as possible.
We know that raising the price may mean some cannot afford it any longer but we really have no choice. We will have 24 races in 2024, up from 21 in 2019. This means readers are getting 14 percent more content at the same cost as previously. At the same time, there has been significant global inflation (20.2 percent in the UK) with the costs of travel exacerbated by F1’s growing popularity. This means the cost of some races has doubled.
We have kept the price down as long as we can, but we cannot ignore reality and have to take steps to protect the magazine for the future.
Those who sign up for 2024 early will benefit from an early bird rate at £45.99.This will change on February 1 to a new standard rate of £49.99.Our bundles will go from an early bird rate of £66.99 to the new annual rate of£71.99.
We wish you all happy holidays and look forward with excitement to 2024.
